We Play Kids is a pediatric therapy centre with an inter-disciplinary team of pediatric Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists. Our mission is to support the development and well-being of children and families through collaborative and research supported strategies, using a playful approach to therapy. We Play Kids is looking for another Occupational Therapist to join our inter-disciplinary team of OTs, PT's and SLP's.
Responsibilities/Requirements:
- To work as part of an inter-disciplinary team to provide support for children and families with developmental needs
- Collaborate with the inter-disciplinary team for program development and implementation
- Assess strengths and needs of children referred for occupational therapy, through formal and informal evaluation, as well as consultation with the family and other team members
- Develop and implement individualized therapy programs for each child based on evaluations and re-evaluate progress at regular intervals.
- Excellent report writing skills
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with the child, family, and their team
- A strong background in sensory processing, sensory & self-regulation, neurodevelopment, fine motor skills, self-care skill development, and relationship-based approaches to therapeutic support
- A passion for working with children with developmental needs
Qualifications:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an approved accredited University
- Current registration with COTBC with professional liability insurance
- Preference given to those with experience working with the pediatric population
- Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental disabilities specific coursework, training or workshops are an asset
- New Graduates are welcome
Job Type & Compensation:
- Full-Time Position or Part-Time Position available
- Compensation can be hourly or as a percentage of billings
- Mentorship and RASP supervision available
- Education stipend available
- Extended health and dental benefits with full-time position
